Ryan Page is a CPA and the founder of Backpocket CPA, dedicated to helping agency owners gain financial clarity and control. Through his unique Backpocket Operating System, he provides CFO-level cash flow management, bookkeeping, and forecasting tailored specifically for creative and digital agencies.
Ryan Page has been a guest in The Business Owner's Journey:
As a fractional CFO for agencies, Ryan partners with digital and creative agency founders who need CFO-level financial management without hiring a full-time executive. His services cover clean agency bookkeeping, cash flow forecasting, gross margin analysis, unit economics for agencies, and long-term profit strategy.
The engagement is designed around a done-for-you approach, where Ryan handles the financial execution while his clients stay focused on running their agencies.
What sets Ryan apart from typical accountants or bookkeepers is his background in enterprise finance. He spent years as a Senior Financial Analyst at SERVPRO and Republic Services, where he built analytics processes and supported SEC reporting, and earlier as a Process Auditor and Data Analyst at PwC.
That process-oriented, data-driven mindset now powers how he runs the Backpocket Operating System for agency clients.
Ryan has described his philosophy as installing financial maturity in founder-led businesses. Instead of agency owners guessing at cash flow or staring at a useless P&L, they hand it to Ryan and get real financial clarity for business owners in return.
Beyond client work, Ryan Page also publishes resources to help entrepreneurs and high earners stop living paycheck to paycheck on the Backpocket CPA website.
Earlier in his career, Ryan co-founded Assisted Reach, a digital marketing venture. That experience on the agency side of the table directly shapes how he serves creative and digital agencies today, giving him operator empathy most CPAs lack.
This approach reflects a broader shift in how modern agencies are operating: treating the finance function as a growth lever rather than a compliance task.
Ryan is also a contributing CPA to Nick Berry's Building Your Finance Strategy Team Guide.
Ryan Page shares his perspective on agency financial management through regular posts on LinkedIn.
He has written about how he can spot a useless P&L in two seconds just by looking at the revenue and COGS section, and why most agency financials fail to support real decisions.
His content explores themes around the fractional CFO vs bookkeeper distinction, why cash flow forecasts protect founders from growth that outruns their runway, and how a financial operating system gives agency owners the freedom and control they expected when they started their business.
Ryan Page grew up in Southern California, where the 2008 financial crash shaped his lifelong interest in cash flow and financial clarity. That formative experience turned into professional purpose.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting (2015) and a Master's Degree in Accounting (2016), both from Arizona State University.
Ryan is based in the Nashville metropolitan area. Outside of work, he plays the saxophone, trains jujitsu, and is a devoted fan of Martin's Bar-B-Que Joint.
