This Episode Appears in Our 'Best Of' Lists:

Season 4 of The Business Owner's Journey starts Tuesday, November 3, 2026. In this short preview, Nick Berry walks through who is joining him this season and what the conversations are about.

Nick started the show because there is so much business owners can learn from each other once they get past the polished version and talk about how things really happened. The more experience he gets, the more interested he is in how other people think: what they are noticing, what they have changed their minds about, and what they understand now that they wish they had understood sooner. Those are the conversations Season 4 brings you.

Who Is Joining Nick Berry in Season 4

Jake George opens the season. Jake is co-founder and technical lead of Agentic Brain. His team has built more than 700 AI employees for 245 businesses, and he wants business owners to get actual value from AI, starting with knowing when not to use it.

Brett Farmiloe is the CEO of Featured, the company that bought Help a Reporter Out (HARO) and connects experts with journalists looking for their knowledge. Brett wants founders with real expertise to recognize its value and get heard.

Mark Cole is the CEO of Maxwell Leadership and John Maxwell's successor. Mark and Nick discuss how you develop leadership capacity in yourself and the people you lead, so you become the leader you are capable of being and the one your business needs you to be.

Brett Bartholomew is back. Brett is the founder of Art of Coaching and helps people who know their craft become just as capable at earning trust and influencing others. His next book, The Antihero Advantage, comes out in December.

Blake Erickson is co-founder of Scaling.com and business partner of Dr. Benjamin Hardy, whose Season 3 interview was the show's most downloaded ever. Blake joins to discuss what separates businesses that are actually scaling from the ones that are just getting busier.

Terry Rice is a keynote speaker and AI trainer who wants to help leaders recognize when a challenge is worth sticking with and when it is time to change direction. His Hard or Wrong framework helps you tell the difference.

Solo Episodes This Season

Nick is adding more solo episodes this season, diving into what he is doing with his companies, his experiences, and how he approaches the decisions the show talks about. The first one is right around the corner and takes on a question every founder thinks about and almost nobody answers with a number: how much of your time should actually go to leading?

Authority Coded and the Google-Me Moment

Brett Farmiloe's conversation connects to the work Nick is doing through his company, Authority Coded, which helps experts improve what prospects find when they Google their name or ask AI about them.

You have earned the expertise. People are looking for you online. If the impression they get from Google or their AI assistant is not building their confidence in you, they move on, and you usually have no way of knowing it happened. Nick calls that the Google-Me Moment, and he has more to share on it this season.

Episode Transcript for Season 4 of The Business Owner's Journey: Who's Coming and What We're Getting Into

Nick Berry
One of the reasons I love these conversations is that I never know exactly what I'm going to take away from them. Someone describes a decision that they made and it makes me rethink one of mine. Or they explain something that they struggled with and suddenly I have the words for something that I've been trying to figure out. Sometimes they see possibilities that I'd never even considered. And that's really why I started the Business Owner's Journey podcast was there's so much that we can learn from each other, especially when we get past the polished version and then start talking about how things really happened.

The more experience I get, the more interested I am in how other people think. What are they noticing? What do they change their minds about? What do they understand now that they wish that they'd understood sooner? And those are the conversations that I want to bring to you. I'm Nick Berry, and season four of the Business Owner's Journey starts on November third. Here's a look at who's joining me and what we're going to be getting into.

Of course we're going to be talking about AI. Except instead of getting all lathered up about it, I've got AI expert Jake George who wants business owners to get actual value from AI, starting with knowing when not to use it. Jake's team has built more than 700 AI employees for 245 businesses. I've also got Brett Farmiloe, who wants founders with real expertise to recognize its value and then get heard. Brett's the CEO of Featured, which is the company that bought Help a Reporter Out, HARO, and connects experts with journalists who are looking for their knowledge.

That connects to the work that I'm doing through my company, Authority Coded. We help experts improve what prospects find when they Google their name or ask AI about them.

You've earned the expertise. People are looking for you online. What kind of impression are you making when they ask Google or their AI assistants about you? Because if that impression isn't building their confidence in you, they're probably saying bye-bye. And you probably have no way of knowing that it even happened. We call that the Google-Me Moment. And I've got plenty more to share on that this season, and I'm excited to get to it.

I've got Mark Cole, who is the CEO of Maxwell Leadership and John Maxwell's successor. How's that for big shoes to fill? Mark and I discuss how you develop leadership capacity in yourself and the people that you lead so you can become the leader that you're capable of being and that your business needs you to be. Brett Bartholomew's back. Brett is helping people who know their craft become just as capable at earning trust and influencing others. He's the founder of Art of Coaching. And he's just written another book, The Antihero Advantage, which I'm excited to read.

Last season, Dr. Benjamin Hardy's interview was our most downloaded ever. So this season I've got his business partner and co-founder of Scaling.com, Blake Erickson. He's going to join us and discuss what separates businesses that are actually scaling from the ones that are just getting busier.

And keynote speaker and AI trainer Terry Rice wants to help leaders recognize when a challenge is worth sticking with and when it's time to change direction. His Hard or Wrong framework, which is brilliant, helps you tell the difference. I've also got more solo episodes this season where I'll be diving into what I'm doing with my companies, my experiences, and how I approach the decisions that we talk about here. The first one's actually right around the corner.

And it's focused on one of the questions that every founder thinks about and almost nobody answers with a number. How much of your time should actually go to leading? That's a peek at what's coming here in season four, and that's all just in the next couple of months. The first interview drops next Tuesday, November the third.

Please follow the Business Owner's Journey wherever you listen so you get that conversation and the ones that follow. I'll see you there.
