Joe Gannon is a personal brand strategist and founder of Amplify, specializing in content strategy for founders. He expertly guides business owners and creators in growing their personal brands, helping them turn their knowledge into influence, income, and impact.
Joe Gannon has been a guest in The Business Owner's Journey:
As founder of Amplify, Joe Gannon runs a fully remote agency with content creators, strategists, and video editors operating across multiple time zones. Past and present clients include Ali Abdaal, Chris Williamson, Sahil Bloom, Jordan Peterson, Greg Isenberg, and the Andreessen Horowitz podcast a16z.
His engagement with Ali Abdaal lasted three years. During that time, the audience grew from 20,000 followers to over 800,000 across platforms. That result established Joe as one of the go-to operators in the creator economy for content strategy for founders who want to grow on LinkedIn and beyond.
He also teaches a LinkedIn Learning course, Purpose-Driven Personal Branding, which covers how to define core values, craft a brand statement, and build a strategic content funnel. Thousands of learners have taken it globally.
Beyond the agency, Joe runs the Personal Brand Mastery program through Amplify Academy, a six-week live cohort for creators, executives, and entrepreneurs who want accountability and results in building their online presence.
Joe developed the StrateTree framework, a visual content map that helps creators define their positioning in a single exercise. The framework maps Core Values (roots), a Personal Brand Statement (trunk), Content Pillars (branches), and Topics (leaves) into a system for consistent, aligned content.
He also built the Personal Brand GPT, a free AI tool trained on Amplify's own frameworks, transcripts from 100+ client calls, and Joe's best LinkedIn content.
Joe publishes a weekly newsletter called Creator's Compass, where he shares actionable frameworks on audience growth, authority-driven content, and AI and personal branding. The newsletter has grown to over 2,500 subscribers.
Joe has been featured as a subject of profiles in Grit Daily, Under30CEO, and Indie Hackers.
He was also featured as a speaker at the Coaching.com Summit, presenting a session called "Mastering Personal Branding: From Concept to Content."
Joe shares his perspective on personal branding for business owners through consistent posts on LinkedIn, where he has built a following of over 60,000. According to Favikon, he ranks in the top 1% of LinkedIn creators in the UK, placing 49th in the Marketing and Sales category.
On YouTube, Joe shares behind-the-scenes content and practical tutorials, including his walkthrough video "Build Your Personal Brand in 10 Minutes (AI Workshop)," which introduces the StrateTree framework and the Personal Brand GPT tool.
Joe is from the United Kingdom. His path into personal branding started at the University of Cambridge, where he worked as a temp on the university's social media team in 2019.
After Cambridge, Joe worked at a video production company as a content marketer, learning to uncover the stories of CEOs and founders. When the pandemic hit in 2021, he lost that job. He took it as a signal to go independent. His first freelance clients were Ali Abdaal, Cliff Weitzman (founder of Speechify), and Chris Williamson (host of the Modern Wisdom podcast).
Joe built Amplify from early mornings and late nights, growing it from a solo operation into a distributed team. The agency now serves founders who want to build a content strategy that generates inbound opportunities, attracts the right audience, and positions them as an authority in their space.
